This adorable crochet strawberry backpack is the perfect accessory for girls who love everything sweet and playful! With its soft pink base, bright red strawberries, and cheerful white daisies, this bag combines charm and functionality in one delightful handmade piece. It’s ideal for carrying small treasures, daily essentials, or just adding a touch of kawaii flair to any outfit.

🧶 Materials You’ll Need

  • Yarn: Cotton or acrylic yarn in:
    • Pink (main body)
    • Red (strawberries)
    • Green (leaves and straps)
    • White and yellow (flowers)
  • Hook: 3.0 mm or 3.5 mm
  • Lining fabric (optional)
  • Drawstring cord or crochet strap
  • Tapestry needle & scissors

🍓 Bag Body

  1. Start with Pink Yarn:
    • R1: Magic ring, 6 sc.
    • R2: 6 inc (12).
    • R3: (sc, inc) × 6 (18).
    • R4: (2 sc, inc) × 6 (24).
    • Continue increasing evenly until the base reaches your desired width (about 18–20 cm).
  2. Sides:
    • Once the base is ready, crochet in the round (no increases) for about 20–22 rows to build height.
    • Keep the shape soft and slightly rounded.
  3. Drawstring Top:
    • Create holes by crocheting (ch 1, skip 1, sc) around the top edge.
    • Next round: sc all around to reinforce.

🌼 Strawberry & Flower Appliqués

Strawberries:

  • R1: With red yarn, ch 4, turn.
  • R2–R3: Work 2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc across, 2 sc in last stitch (increasing both ends).
  • Shape into a triangle, then switch to green yarn to create the leaf top.

Flowers:

  • Center: Yellow yarn — Magic ring, 6 sc.
  • Petals: White yarn — (ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st) × 5 petals.

Sew or glue the strawberries and flowers evenly across the bag.

🎒 Straps

  • Chain a long foundation (approx. 90–100 cm) using green and pink yarn alternately.
  • Work 2–3 rounds of single crochet for a thick, braided look.
  • Attach the straps securely to the back or sides of the bag.

🪡 Finishing Touches

  • Insert a lining if desired for extra durability.
  • Thread the drawstring through the top holes and tie in a bow.
  • Add small crochet leaves or mini strawberries for extra decoration!

💖 Perfect For:

  • Everyday adventures
  • School or playdates
  • Gifts for birthdays or holidays
  • Cute aesthetic or kawaii fashion looks
